Feast of the Nativity of the Birthgiver of God
Last week, our parish celebrated the Feast of the Nativity of the Birthgiver of God, one of the great feasts of the Church. In the birth of the Theotokos, we see the beginning of God’s preparation for the coming of Christ into the world. Her life would become one of humility, obedience, and complete trust in God, culminating in her freely saying “yes” to His will at the Annunciation. The feast reminds us that God often begins His greatest works quietly and long before we can see their fulfillment. As we honor the birth of the Mother of God, we are invited to follow her example by placing our own lives in God’s hands with faith, patience, and trust. We give thanks to everyone who joined us in prayer and fellowship for this beautiful celebration.
